Introduction:
Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun is a Doctor of Ministry. He has been one of the contemporary Christian leaders since his youthful age even till his old age period. He is also a leader of leaders because many Christian leaders have taken him as their Mentor, seeking from him counsels and drinking from his deep well of knowledge. Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun and his life experiences have become a resource and centre of acquisition of knowledge where many Christian leaders acquire information, knowledge and wisdom for successful leadership and better living.
How did Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun come into being? How did he become leader of the leaders? What made him an extra-ordinary leader of the leaders? Lets study him meditatively.

His Birth and Education:
Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun was born in Iganna (near Okeho) in Iwajowa Local Government, Oyo State of Nigeria on the 20th day of November 1936. He studied his Primary Education (Infant 1 to Standard III) at the Baptist Day (now Basic) School, Oke-Aafin, Iganna in the year 1948 to 1951 and proceeded to Baptist Day School, Isia, Okeho for his remaining primary education to obtain Standard Six Certificate between 1951 and 1954.
He was appointed as a Primary School teacher into the Baptist Day (now Basic) School, Iganna in 1956 before he was called as a pastor which made him attended the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary between 1957 and 1959 where he obtained a Certificate in Theology (CTH).
After his theological training, he was called as the Church Pastor of First Baptist Church, Oguro, Ejigbo in Osun State of Nigeria where he served between 1959 and 1964 for four and a half years. Rev. Dr. J.A. Adedokun got married to Mrs. Felicia Ayowole Adedokun (Nee Ibiyemi) from Ara near Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria when he was working as the pastor of First Baptist Church, Oguro, Ejigbo in Osun State of Nigeria and they are blessed with five children.
During this time, he was able to attend Baptist High School, Ejigbo for the purpose of obtaining his Olevel Certificate before he left for the United States of America (USA) for the Golden Fleece in 1964, but for one reason or the other, he was unable to go straight to the USA, he had a stopover in London for 4 years with the assurance of proceeding to further his studies in America.
After he had spent four years in London, he went to USA. In USA, he studied at the American Baptist Theological Seminary, Nashville. Tennessee USA and he obtained his first Degree Certificate (the Bachelor of Arts) between 1968 and 1970, majoring in Bible Interpretation. Then, followed by the award of Certificate of Master of Divinity (M. Div.) on the discipline called Church Organization as his area of specialization at the Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA in the years 1970 to 1972.
Finally, he obtained his Doctorate Degree (Doctor of Ministry) majoring in Ministry and Counseling, a professional degree for a Church Administrator between 1972 and 1974 from the same Vanderbilt University Nashville Tennessee U.S.A.

Pastoral Experience:
Beside his initial experience at the First Baptist Church, Oguro, Osun State in 1959 to 1964 for five years, he served as the Associate Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee, USA from 1986 to 1970 and Acting Pastor of the same Church for two years from 1971 1973,
Rev. Dr. Adedokuns Time at First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan, Nigeria:
After he had completed the assignment giving to him by God in abroad, he returned to Nigeria based on the request of the First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan to come from America to assume the post of the pastor of First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan and he resumed duties as Pastor-in-Charge of this First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan on the 1st day of September, 1974. This is how he became the then Pastor-in-Charge of First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan.
Physical and Spiritual Development in the time of Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun at First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan
When Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun resumed the pastorate of First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan, the Church started the Church Bulletin which is published every Sunday. A Pipe Organ was bought in his time. The Church was renovated and floor was retouched with terrazzo. Aperin Baptist Church was opened, the Church Cemetery was commissioned. And the Church block of flats at Felele lay-out was completed.

Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun pastoral prayer programme was also a regular feature in the services every Sunday in all churches he served. He always visited and related to both youths and elderly people in the church and outside the church with love and respect. Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun extremely served God and His people when he was at First Baptist Church, Idikan, Ibadan, because as he reached out to his Church members, worked towards their welfare, his residences gate and door was also and always opened widely to welcome, accommodate and entertain anybody who feel to come to him be it for counselling or any other assistance. He was an extra-ordinary leader throughout his period as a pastor of First Baptist Church, Idiikan. One of Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokuns philosophy is found in II Timothy 3: 16. He believes the bible as the life book of knowledge, wisdom and understanding in which whoever wants to succeed in life should not forsake, he therefore took Biblical Moses as his Mentor and model to be emulated for he was never tired of attending to anyone who came to him on every issue (Exodus 18). Later, as the Church was growing and developing, he adopted Jethro-Moses-Administrative-Theory (Exodus 18) and this made him an extra-ordinary and excellent leader.

Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun as Pioneer Executive Secretary (now President) of the then Oyo West Baptist Conference
While he was serving as the Pastor-in-Charge of First Baptist Church, Idiikan, Ibadan, he was also chosen to serve as the pioneer Executive Secretary (now The President) of the then Oyo West Baptist Conference (Part Time) 1977 1984. The Oyo West Baptist Conference covered the whole present Oyo State of Nigeria and this Oyo West Conference was the mother Conference that gave birth to Four standard organized Conferences namely: Ibadan Baptist Conference, Oyo Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso Baptist Conference and Oke-Ogun Baptist Conference (As he was the Secretary in the office of Oyo West Baptist Conference (Part Time), he also led as the Moderator of Ibadan Baptist Association for seven years successfully from 1975 to 1982) and due to his tremendous and enthusiastic performances which resulted to the progress and development of the Conference when he was working in the office of the Oyo West Baptist Conference as Part Time secretary, he was re-elected as the Pioneer and First Full-Time Executive Secretary (now President) of the then Oyo West Baptist Conference in the year 1984 till he retired from the office in 1995. Because he was the permanent secretary of Oyo West Baptist Conference, he became automatic member of the Executive Committee of the Nigeri Baptist Convention.

Immediately after his retirement from the office of the Oyo West Baptist Conference Secretary, he was able (as the Lord God led him) to establish a Church on the 1st of January, 1996. The Church is named Bethel Baptist Church, Oke-Ayo, Iganna.

Rev. Dr. Jacob .Adegoke Adedokun as the Pioneer President of EL-SHALOM CENTRE FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT.
Even, after his retirement, Rev. Dr. J. A. Adedokun was never tired in the ministry of visitation to the flock of Jesus Christ and even the lost sheep and people outside the flocks (Christians and Non-Christians) and was very frank and humorous. Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun always sees to the welfare of Less-Privileged-Ones e. g. talented-ones-with-poor-background, Disabled-ones like blinds and other handicaps, Agedones, etc. The spirit of generosity and giving embedded in him always push him and he therefore adopts the attitude of Jesus Christ of administering palliative to the Less-Privileged-Ones to reduce their affliction and make their pain easier to bear. No wonder! He is among of a set of people who launched an organization called EL-SHALOM CENTRE FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. The organization which is situated at Iganna in Iwajowa Local Government, Oyo State of Nigeria is established in the year 2004. The pioneer members of the organization are as listed below:

Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun as an Educator
Rev. Dr. Jacob .Adegoke Adedokun is an educator. As he educates morally and spiritually, he is also an educator in academics. He was once a teacher in the year 1956 in Baptist Day School, Oke-Aafin, Iganna. He is also the Pioneer Founder and Proprietor of Oshinkeye Nursery/Primary School, Iganna, since September, 1986 till date. In the process of the establishment of this school, Emmanuel Adekunle Adedokun (Now Dr. Emmanuel Adekunle Adedokun) stands as a helping hand with Rev. Dr. Jacob .Adegoke Adedokun (his father) for the progress and development of the school.
The favour and mercy of God which Rev. Dr. Jacob .Adegoke Adedokun was able to receive on the establishment of primary school begat an advancement which resulted at the Founding of a post primary school (i. e. Secondary or Grammar School) called Ade-Ayo International College, Oke-Ayo, Iganna. September, 1999.

Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun is an international personnel for he was able to tour round some parts of the worlds continents namely:- Asia, Africa, Europe, etc.

Conclusion
Rev. Dr. Jacob Adegoke Adedokun is a man of integrity and a model to be emulated in Christendom. He served as an active leader of churches without blemish in both Nigeria and abroad for years. He led as moderator of Association in Baptist Denomination and later, he was excel to the post of conference Secretary (now conference President) with successful ending with different kinds of award from different organizations when he was in service and after his retirement. As he is still living, good health and more grace for him in Jesus name.
