Introduction
Thanking God that we are able to witness this year 2025 Youth week. We thank God that since last year till this present moment, no evil fall on any one of us. I also thank God for the oppourtunity which God gives me to stand before you brethren of this fellowship today, I pray we shall be going higher and higher in Jesus name. Praise the Lord.
The theme for this Years Youth Week is: BREAK FORTH
And this theme (BREAK FORTH) shall be our topic in which we would study upon today.
The Text from where we are to receive message is found in Deuteronomy 1: 7.
It says:- Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates – Deut.1.7 (KJV).
First of all, I want us to examine our theme’s brief interpretation which says Break Forth.
What does the theme means? When we say Break Forth, it means GO OUT or COME OUT.
But go or come out to where? From where too? And for what purpose? Our text Deuteronomy 1: 7 would explain where to go and what to do there.
Now, let somebody read: Deuteronomy 1: 7
In Deuteronomy 1: 7, the first statement of God is REPENT!
What does this mean?
It means that God want us to change from our previous ungodly behaviours to godly because God does not happy with our evil ways of life. Our disobedience does not please God. God wants us to think and be convinced, to correct ourselves and to convert. And again, we are very lazy in the preaching of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to people. Our laziness on the field of gospel ministry does not make God happy. God want us now to change from our former ungodly attitudes to the will of God and be active in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. God says – REPENT! And as God says, REPENT! We should truly REPENT.
Go on your way The God says.
As the scripture says – Go on your way!
Which way is our way?
Our way is the way of Gospel.
As the Lord Jesus Christ says (in St. Mark 16: 15) you all should go into the world, Deuteronomy says the same indirectly and we should go to the world.
To whom in the world?
To the unbelievers, to the people that are not have Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour like Amorites, Canaanites and other tribes living on the land of Canaan. In our country Nigeria too, we are surrounded with uncountable unbelievers, wicked ones and ungodly people, the Lord God awaken today to take steps forward to go and minister to them in our communities, in the streets, in our home, in our places of work and worship and in our society as a whole.
Going to them for what purpose? Why are we going to them? To do what?
In the bible time, the Israelites were mandated to go and war against those unbelievers with physical armour of war, to destroy and wipe them out and away from the Land of Israel and they did as God commanded them.
Now, these days our war tools are not Guns, not Arrows and not cutlass again but our todays war fighting tools are the word of God, our intelligence and mouth to preach the word of God and decent gifts for the needs to express how God is merciful to the whole world. The Lord God is expecting all these days Christians to put on spiritual armour of intelligence which consists of:
The maximum acquired knowledge from the Holy Bible,
The understanding we have in the Holy Scriptures and
The wisdom we received from God through Bible reading, through bible studying and meditation and
The gifts to our spiritual clients from our possessions.
God is expecting the Christians to war against the devils and his evil spirits that are living in the heart of mankind. God wants the Christians to disciple those that are not Christians, to teach them the ways of God and make them become Christs followers so that they also would have Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Lets somebody read (Ephesians 6: 10 – 11).
… be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil Ephesians 6:10-11.
Being strong in the Lord and in His mighty power indicates constant reading and studying in the word of God with fervent meditation of a circumcised Christian in the leadership of the holy spirit which each a sound Christian experienced. Then putting on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil implies the readiness of each Christian in anticipation for the expansion of the kingdom of God here on earth and there in heaven.
So, as children of God, we should read and study our holy Bible to know and understand what God desires for us and we should also use all knowledge and grace we have got from Jesus Christ to teach the unbelievers, to preach to their hearing and see that they converted from the devil to Jesus Christ.
So, as God says to us in Deuteronomy 1: 7 to BREAK FORTH, lets do. BREAK FORTH means that we should go and preach the gospel to the whole world. As the God (in Deuteronomy 1: 8) talks to the Israelites, says: I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land likewise you the Christians, the Lord Jesus Christ and God His father had gone to the gospel teaching and preaching field, God had prepared the way ahead of you, God is in front of you, go to the people, talk the gospel to their hearing, try your best and leave the rest, God would do the final.
God ordered the Israelites to go and claim the land of Canaan and God talks to us today to go and spread the gospel to the whole world to claim these days land and to win the soul of people that are living on the land of the world for Jesus Christ. God mandates us today too to Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone Mark 16: 15).
CONCLUSION
God had called us, lets answer Him.
He had commissioned us, lets be empowered.
God had sent us to the world, lets go.
Let us act faster today, tomorrow may be too late.
Remain blessed!
