THE PLACE AND POSITIONS OF GOD IN MARRIAGE

Introduction:-
The marriage is like a thinning (deeper) Dark Cave where more than an animal may like to choose as their residence. If an animal like Lion chooses a Dark Cave to be it’s Den and another animal species like a Fox unequally yoked with the Lion in the Den. Undoubtedly, such Fox had ruined itself. Be informed and understand that no Fox would ever enter into a Cave without thorough investigation, screening, reasonings and confirmation of whether such Cave is dangerous or conducive and helpful but some people carelessly enter into marriage without hesitation. A question is asked, says:- are the animals wiser than human beings?

The God’s Absence in Marriage results in Broken Home:-
The root cause of violence, agony and depression in many Matrimonial Homes today is the absence of God in their marriage proposal and lack of God’s involvement in the spouses’ courtship before dowry payment and marriage certification to the spouses. As the scripture says:- “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” – Psalms 11: 3 (NIV). It’s true. If the beginning of marriage is faulty, such matrimonial home has completely affected, spolt, destroyed and gone.

It’s a pity, some humans’ spouses are extremely idiotic to the extent that they espouse a partner to marry in the future without divine revelation and intervention of God. Some of our contemporary youths fail in carrying out thorough investigation on their Espoused-one, thorough screening, reasonings and confirmation of whether their union would be the will of God or not are meaningless, valueless or worthless to them. Many young males and females these days are botherless of seeking for the face of God and contact Him for trouble-free and violence-free future matrimonial home, the contemporary young males and females based their means of choosing spouse on fleshy criterion like Education, Decent Appearance, Facial Beauty, Complexion, Body-shape, Decency-in-dressing, etc. The spiritual immaturity of some youths today has made them consider Religious eyes’ services like being a Chorister singing like angels, being a Bible teacher teaching in sunday schools as the evidence of the divine fire, and regular participation in religious services and worships (but secretly living sinful life) as yardsticks to propose and determine a spouse to couple with. The contemporary youths are affected by the lack of revelation from God and knowledge of marriage of biblical standard. Understanding of the divine purpose of marriage, the will of God for marriage, and wisdom of God which each spouse should possess in anticipation for marriage are considered unimportant factors to them and then, they are falling into the Dark Cave and the Den of Lion. So, to avoid dangers and crisis in matrimonial home life, the manifestation of the presence of God in one’s marriage is highly essential.

The God as the Most-High and Supreme Match-maker in Marriage:- The establishment of every peaceful matrimonial home based on the involvement of God during the courtship of a couple. The Almighty God usually works along with young males and females that have faith in Him. The God chooses partners for the faithful and just persons. He (God) guides, informs and instructs when necessary. God chooses compatible spouses for His children each when it’s the time. The children of God are warned of eagerness on securing future spouses. They are advised to trust God for the best for peaceful future matrimonial home. The beginning determines the future.

God and His Spirit as the Spouses’ Parents in Marriage:- It was after the creation of the entire cosmos (earth), the Almighty God philosophised reasons for giving birth to a human Male and Female (Adam and Eve). The Holy Scripture briefs the history of the birth of Adam and Eve as it says:- … God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them – Genesis 1: 27 (NIV). But on getting to the second chapter of the first book in the Holy Bible, the scripture details the creative account of humanities says:- Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being – Genesis 2: 7 (NIV). This implies that the Almighty God was the Father of Adam, God was the Parent of Adam and the birth of Adam as the first man on earth was not through Sexual-Intercourse between man and woman but through sculptural clay (or dust of the earth) work (molding) with in-to-in breathing from God to Adam and Adam became first human-child of God at the beginning on earth. Don’t be confused! Jesus Christ is the Most-High first Child of God since, even before the creation of the earth, Jesus Christ had already been borne by God in the realm even before the creation of heaven regardless of earth’s creation because Jesus Christ Himself testified to His own birth period when the scripture says:- The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; – Proverbs 8: 22 – 30 (KJV).

Therefore, Jesus Christ was positioned as the most first Child of God in the realm before heavens and the earth were created. But after the creation of heavens and earth, Adam was born first by God as human being.

Then, later on the long run, the Lord God had compassion on Adam for his loneliness and helplessness life he was living, He (God) then proposed to create another person that would be helpful to exterminate loneliness by accompanying Adam in every moment for the scripture says:- The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” – Genesis 2: 18 (NIV). Meaning that the Lord God was intended to produce another human being or give birth to another person in support of the first man called Adam.

It was as if Adam himself was anxious of having partner because he took a look at all other creatures (i. e. land animals and flying birds) but found no one like him (Genesis 2: 20). The eagerness of Adam to have partner quicken God in producing Eve (which means woman) for Adam to solve the problems of loneliness and helplessness (Genesis 2: 21 – 22). This was how God became the Father and Parent of Adam and Eve. And He (God) played His Fatherly role in Adam and Eve’s life. So, youths, a male or female, spouses or couples who want to have a successful marriage should take God as their Father and Parent. God is the only trustable Father that could always lead spouses aright and the matrimonial home would stand firm in unregrettable life.

God and His Spirit as Paddler, Sailor and Pilot in Marriage:- God knows how the marriage begins because He was the inventor of marriage. Marriage is a vehicle of life contains spouses moving on in the matrimonial journey of life. God is the driver of matrimonial vehicle while the spouses are found in the matrimonial vehicle as passengers. As the males and females children may possibly aboard into the vehicle as the time goes on, the spouses as passengers should neither disturb God while driving nor hijack the steering of matrimonial home’s vehicle from God because such attempt could endanger the lives of the household. For a successful matrimonial home life, the God and His Spirit’s presence is necessary.

Why the God and His Spirit’s Presence is Necessary?
The scripture says:- The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. ….. – Isaiah 11: 2 – 4 (NIV). This denotes here that the Spirit of God has six branches as listed below:
i. Spirit of wisdom
ii. Spirit of understanding
iii. Spirit of counsel
iv. Spirit of might
v. Spirit of knowledge
vi. Spirit of the fear of God
When the scripture says:- The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him …. – Isaiah 11: 2 (NIV) and this same Spirit is identified in different six positions namely:- wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and fear of God (Isaiah 11: 2 – 3). It implies that the Spirit of the Lord is the only source of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of God. The couples in the homes should agree that all these branches of the Holy Spirit of God are essentially needed in all endeavours of mankind starting from the early life of humanities till down.

The Holy Bible enumerates why each humankind should accommodate six different spirits in ONE GOD in their life as follow:-

i. The couple who accommodates the Lord’s Spirit of wisdom performs beyond humans’ intelligence.

ii. If a husband and wife could acknowledge the Lord’s Spirit of understanding, they live in anticipation for the intervention of God in all issues because he who understands the Lord God’s way always exercise gentleness and patience in all endeavours
.
iii. When the humanities embrace the Lord’s Spirit of counsel, they act fast in hearings but act slowly in response (or action) as the scripture says:- My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry – James 1: 19 (NIV) until descension of the divine guidance for making decisions.

iv. He or she who embraces the Lord’s Spirit of might would be strong enough and extremely capable to endure crisis, challenges, persecutions and other difficulties of life both in the home and outside the home.

v. Cherishing the Lord’s Spirit of knowledge proves one to be an excellent in conversations and actions.

vi. The scripture encourages human beings, says:- Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing – Psalms 34: 9 (NIV). Being in the fear of God and operating under the Spirit of the fear of God proves the faithfulness of the concerned and it’s also conforms and empowers the God’s sonship and God’s daughtership of an individual. And again, the fear of God provides divine protection for those who fear Him (Psalm 34: 7).

The scripture says:- Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; ….. – Proverbs 29: 18 (NIV). What is the revelation which the scripture is talking about here? Revelation here is the feeling of the presence of the Holy Spirit of God. It could also mean the outputs of relationship and interaction between each spouse and God. Revelation is the exposition of the hidden agendas of the Devil and the will of God for each individual’s life so that the concerned would know and understand the next step to take. Revelation may be negative or positive, productive or unproductive, profitable or unprofitable, fruitful or unfruitful. To prove godliness, each spouse in each matrimonial home is advised to desire for progressive foresight because it works for an individual to live a godly and purposeful life. A spouse in marriage that ignores God and His Spirit ignores the benefits and pleasure of marriage.

The scripture says:- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work – II Timothy 3: 16 – 17 (NIV). This implies that allowing God and His Spirit in one Matrimonial Home indicates the presence of God in such home.
So, with the above, one could now see that the presence of the Holy Spirit of God is paramount and extremely needed in marriage. The absence of the Spirit of God in marriage is the presence of the Devil and his spirits.

God The Alpha as Marriage Establisher and Spouses’ Joiner for Godly Matrimonial Home:- The God Almighty doesn’t forsake us in the darkness. God is always in the process of tackling the spirit of ignorance which the Satan had posted in human life as his armour to combat and destroy the work of God on earth. The scripture is the light which shines brighter on the ways of those who believe and are faithful to God. The scriptural exposition which makes us detect that God is the Establisher of Marriage and the Joiner of the spouses is exceedingly helpful and marvelled. The Bible says:-‭ Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame – Genesis 2: 22 – 25 (NIV). According to the scripture, it’s seen that God should be involved in marriage from the beginning henceforth as the originator of marriage. There is no way a couple could be succeeded in their marriage unless they admit God as the establisher and the base of their matrimonial home. A home that begins with God, placing God at the centre of their Matrimonial leadership and surrender all to God had succeeded.

God as the King in Marriage:- So , marriage could be seen as a means, a channel or a medium in which a male and a female are joined together to establish a life earthly home as an institution which is designed and inaugurated on earth by God as a Micro-Territory of God for God’s purpose of flourishing the earth vigorously for the God’s sovereignty alone. Meaning that God established marriage institution for no other things but for humanities to stand strong and firm for the proper and effective coordination of the universe in the directive of the holy spirit of GOD (Genesis 1: 26 – 28; Gen. 2: 18 – 24 ). Marriage in each Christian home should prove itself a Micro-Territory of God in which God establishes His Divine Palace of leadership to co-ordinate and make each member of such Christian’s home the salt and light of the world to the glory of God (Matthew 5: 13 – 16).

After the heavens creation, God descended from heaven, He created and colonized the earth, He created Adam and Eve, He joined them together in marriage as husband and wife and installed them as the first King and Queen over the earth. Colonization of the whole earth through Inauguration of Marriage was done by God. The aim and objective of God for the inauguration of marriage was to colonize the earth, to establish His kingdom and to rule the earth through His Consul. God made Adam and Eve and appointed Adam and Eve as His Consul to rule the earth (Genesis 1: 26 – 28; Gen. 2: 18 – 24 ). Therefore, main purpose of the creation of man and woman as husband and wife is to live together, to be in accord and to accompany each other in the proper care of the earth created by God. The implication is that no couple should be careless with the natures and the physical environment in which they found themselves. The natures surrounding each Christian’s home and their physical environment (including humanities in the society of our environment) must be well studied and co-ordinate by such home carefully, properly and solemnly to the glory of God.

How do I understand this? The scripture enumerates how God created the heavens and the earth and He itemizes how all things within were created one after the other from the day one till day six (Genesis 1: 1 – 25). Then, towards the end of day six, God philosophised that without living image like Himself, all the created natures would be devalued, then, God took a move to create an image that would resemble Himself (Genesis 1: 26), He created two different sex human images like Himself and call the images a male and a female (Genesis 1: 26 – 27). The scripture identifies the first person made by God as male ( Adam which means Man) and how he was created from the dust of earth (or soil) was explained (Genesis 2: 7).

God as the Source of Help:- The Lord God is the main source from where help comes to the humanities. He is the pioneer source of help. As the God always paid visitations to Adam in the Garden of Eden where Adam resided, He (God) was unpleasant with loneliness and stress of Adam in the Garden of Eden, God decided and promised Adam for the creation of a helper (Genesis 2: 18) and God fulfilled is promise in the creation of Eve with one of the bones of Adam (Genesis 2: 21 – 25). God is the supreme Helper. He Himself is Help. God is compassionate to those who are faithful to Him. He who accommodates Him gains divine success.

The Mighty God as the Supreme Provider in Marriage:- Then, God made every necessities of life like residence, edible and drinkable substances available for the created man before his existence (Genesis 1: 1 – 2: 6). Even after the creation of the first man, provisions of God for his (Adam’s) welfare was in progress (Genesis 2: 8 – 15). God is the Provider of all good things, the spouses that recognise God as the Supreme Provider shall not want of good things.

The Most-High God as the Supreme Law-Maker in Marriage:- One should remember the scripture which says that:- …. “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” – II Thessalonians 3: 10 (NIV). The Lord God gave the first man Garden of Eden as his community and environment and mandated him to be working there for his welfare in Garden. The rightful and forbidden are enlisted to the hearing of the first man (Adam) created by God so as to make his life unlimited and the rules and regulations given by God was rounded off with the aftermath of disobedience (Genesis 2: 15 – 17). All these rules and regulations were laid down to recognise God as the Supreme Constituted Authority. God is the Supreme Constituted Authority and the Law-Maker in each home, the scripture is the book of law for each Matrimonial Home, any home that takes Holy Bible as the book of law in their home shall never be misled.

Conclusion:- When a Home is Violent, What Happened? The implication is that two or more hungry Lions are found living together in annoyance in a Dark Den. Marriage could also be recognised as a Thick Wild Forest in which different kinds of animals are found. Despite that Lion and leopard are hunters, but due to their slight incompatibilities in nature and characters, it would be very difficult for them to stay together harmoniously when they come across each other (they couldn’t be together as a couple) When a Hyena and Domestic Dog meet each other in the forest, though they are somehow slightly resembled each other yet, their meeting may not be friendly for they each are unequal species, they shouldn’t enter into marriage with each other. Otherwise, they abide in the thick wild forest without hope of coming out again.

If one could recollect, when a mad Domestic Dog and a healthy Domestic Dog meet each other in a community, the community would be violently rowdy for the dogs’ characters of the moment unpleasantly and against each other (both could not be husband and wife). At the same time, in the same thick and dark wild forest, animals of the same breed and species are found in mutual relationship, moving together, feeding together, sleeping together and meeting together for their young ones’ production. It is because of their compatibility. Likewise the spouses (husband and wife) of humanities.

it is a pity that some couples are in marriage incompatibly like lion and leopard which are of different breeds and species. Some human beings are in marriage like sheep and goat as spouses, others are in the matrimonial relationship like the marriage between an antelope and zebra while some spouses enter into marriage as if a viper and a serpent enter into marriage relationship with each other. All these relationships are incompatibilities. The act of marrying incompatible figure as a spouse is an ungodly, a foolishness and barbaric act which comes from the lack of reasoning and at last resulted at violence. Be warned and careful.
