SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE.
Introduction:-
Greetings.
Marriage is a rule and principle which enforces a man to be husband and to stand as the director and model of godliness and moral upon his matrimonial home and wife as the co-director in the inaugurated Matrimonial Home which is Human-Procreative-Industry for the production of morally and godly children.

If a Matrimonial Home would be a glorious Human-Procreative-Industry, there should be peaceful relationship and harmonious interactions between the spouses. If a Human-Procreative-Industry would be peaceful and harmonious for the production of children of moral and godliness, love from the spouses to each other, and fear from the spouses to each other should be basically erupted in the spouses’ hearts. So, for this reason, our topic today is:-

Topic:- Love and Fear as the Base of Holy Matrimony in Each Christian Home
Text:- Ephesians 5: 33.

Love and fear in God is the concrete base upon which a Matrimonial Home is erected. These love and fear of God should be manifested in the spouses towards each other as the word of God declares (Ephesians 5: 33) (NIV) says:- However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

This implies that Couples Love and Fear towards God and each other spouses Empower Christian Home.

To implement these love and fear of God in marriage, the spouses have roles to play as the scripture itemizes below in Ephesians 5: 21 – 33 (NIV).

Verse 21. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (This denotes that a hundred percent honour, respect and sacrifice from both spouses to each other makes perfection for the smooth running of a Matrimonial Home to achieve the targeted goals).

Verse 22. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. (It implies that a wife should not wait for her husband to submit himself to her before she manifest her total submission to her husband).

Verse 23. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. (Why the wife should do this? It is because God had elevated the husband over his wife. The husband had made to be master over his wife. Husband had taken the position of (leadership) Christ the Saviour on his wife, the wife should remember that she was brought out from the body of her husband (Genesis 2: 21 – 23). Husband had become the saviour of his home).

Verse 24. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. (This verse says that the husband is the symbol, representation, agent and ambassador of Christ in a Matrimonial Home, therefore, befitting honour and respect suitable for Christ should be given to husband in a Matrimonial Home for he (husband) is representing Jesus Christ in his home).

Verse 25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Each husband is mandated to love and cherish his wife as Jesus Christ loves his obedient followers (i. e. Church). This is the reason why each wife should be submitted to her husband as the Church is submitted to her Lord Jesus Christ the Saviour).

Verse 26. to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, (Each wife should submit herself to her husband so as enables her enjoy proper and befitting care from her husband).

Verse 27. and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. (A wife who is submitted fully to her husband would neither be lashed nor disgraced in any form by the outsiders).

Verse 28. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (A husband who loves his wife loves himself and he who hates his wife hates himself and excavates his grave).

Verse 29. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church. (As each spouse know and understand how to work for her or goodness, the same should be done towards each other in each matrimonial home).‭

Verse 30. for we are members of his body. (Each spouse should emulate the example of the Lord Jesus Christ in catering for their household).

Verse 31. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” (The scripture mandates man to vacate from his parents and unite to his wife but surprisingly, reverse is the case. Instead of man (as husband) to pack all his loads and leave his parents, it is the woman (as wife) that vacates from her parents’ residence for her husband’s. Women’s love towards their husbands is superb. Wonderful).

Verse 32. This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. (For a person to vacate from his well-known and pleasant relatives for cleaving with an unknown person is risky and dangerous. This is the situation where husband and wife found themselves. The love between husband and wife is the work of God which one could not understand why it is so).

Verse 33. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (The best and lasting solutions for a Matrimonial Home to stand and strong are for the husband and wife to love, fear and respect each other).

Conclusion:-
Proverbs 22: 4 (NKJV) explains that:- By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. This reveals reasons for a person to respect and fear man and God. This denotes that it’s profitable to respect and fear man and God. Meaning that being rich, wealthy, honour and life are awaiting for the one who respects and fear man and God. It indicates that the success of a person based on a person’s humility and fear towards man and God. So, he or she who respects man and God enjoys riches, wealth, honour and life. Please! Wife, respect your husband. Husband, honour the respect given to you by your wife. Both husband and wife, fear each other. 

To make a Matrimonial Home stand and stronger and healthier, it requires four actions (love, fear, humility and respect). While unhealthy home is erupted from hatred, insolence and violence. The couples should be warned.
